The One
I used to be strong.
I never fell down.
I tumbled
So close
But so far from the ground.
I held people up.
I’d say,
“You’ll build up”.
“Keep your chin up”.
I’d climb into the sky and fly.
There were many spots that were blind,
But I knew I was in line.
I’d jump up, turn around, make sure my feet were glued to the ground.
One step, two step, three step,
That was my prep.
Then I was ready,
Straight and steady.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Without a doubt.
All on my own,
I was the one who shone.
