Oh my brother

Fri, 06/20/2014 - 20:41 -- Emily H

Oh my brother,

where are you today?

Have you gone out to play?

Will you come tomorrow

or will we be drowned in sorrow?

Mother said not to cry

because one day we will meet in the sky.

Would you have given up your honor

if you knew you were a goner?

I wish you would have swallowed your pride

and stayed by my side.

Oh my brother,

did you know Tommy went out to play

with the other team yesterday?

He was the little boy

who always shared his toy

when we went to the playground

and made a sand mound.

Now his mother waits by the window

for him to appear under a rainbow.

I look at the field where I wonder

which rock could you be under.
