The Next Moment

At times I don't know where I am.
One moment I'm at my high school freshman English class reading about Oedipus,
The next, I'm walking out of Concepts & Theories
Getting ready to pay a $2.50 fare for a LADOT Commuter Bus.

Time is gone within the blink of an eye.
It's crazy to think about what happens next.
I would reminisce upon my fondest memories,
When the next thing I know, I receive that text.

Another moment passing by ever.. so... slowly.
Tears falling down like raindrops,
I can't help anyone, not even myself,
And I pray to God that all this stops.

One more moment and I'd wanna fly
Thinking that there's nothing left for me
I contemplate death.
In His cold arms, he envelops me.

What I thought would be my last moment,
I manage to open an eye
To a cold room, full of flowers and loved ones.
Where am I?

The next moment, I'm graduating from college.
I walk onto the stage, receive my diploma, and smile.
I survived, because He wanted me to live. I wanted me to live.
Now I look forward to every second and every mile.
