The Monster Under my Bed

Location

Wake up one night

Sweat on my face

my heart was beating wildly

at an uneven pace

My face was wet

my tears dripping to the floor

I cling to myself

I couldnt take it anymore

All you did was yell

all you said were lies

and as my blood hit the floor

you screamed "don't you cry!"

Small little dots

soon littered my floor

my own blood

was not mine anymore

I had to hide my bruises

I couldnt let my classmates know

A tiny bit of makeup

would cover the ones that would show

I offered out a smile

to all of my friends

but as soon as i came home

my smile came to an end

you were always there

the monster under my bed

and thanks to your brutality

I can't even take shelter in my head

As i sit here and think

about what you stole from me

I have nothing to give

you even stole my security

So as i sit in pain

or as i fake a smile

I know you see me dying

you have seen it for awhile.
