mama I made it!

Sun, 05/08/2016 - 18:40 -- erusty

Don’t cry for me mama, because you know I jumped for joy,

When I was rejected from your Ivy League school,

From a study that would bring security and down my world,

Please don’t’ worry for me mama, you’re right; college will make me more liberal,

So don’t be scared for me mama, you know I read the news,

Sexual Assault in College Campuses Now a Nationwide War,

I know what Jameis Winston got that Heisman for,

Statistics Russian-roulette, the poison doesn’t lie in the college you choose,

And don’t panic for me mama, about what I will be exposed to,

I’ve taught myself how to stay inside,

Don’t tell me to shoot for the stars ma, when what you meant was to stay on the ground

I’m climbing back to space because I know how to make myself proud.
