Loving Partnership

I never was in a relationship, nor did I ever have a crush.
Not until you asked me the question that day.
We were each others' firsts. First kiss and first real and only relationship.
Being awkward and cute at the start, incapable of holding hands without turning pink.

Almost three years have passed since we've been together.
Together as partners and lovers, not as some trophy for show.
Now I can't imagine my life without you. Silly it is, considering our age.
The awkwardness now replaced with a comforting calm. Great understanding and high respect replaces our childish early behavior.

Our future is uncertain; but certainly not bleak.
With hardships to overcome and goals within arms reach.
One thing is unquestionable, even if this relationship were to end.
You will always have me. Both a supportive girlfriend and true friend.
