A Lover To His Past

Fri, 12/20/2013 - 16:15 -- cfletch

Walk with me, through many land and many sea

I tell you this plea, my one love, my only decree,

In happiness and in health, in sadness and in wealth

As if a book on the shelf, you have become a part of myself

Like the wilderness you are a mystery

I will not allow you to become history,

Flow through me as if a river

You are my entirety, not a sliver

Many a mountain peak, or few a valley low

Like these my emotions sow, my thoughts you will never know,

I yearn for confirmation, like an eagle to it's prey

I wish you would tell me, everything you need to say

The way you never care, it hurts too much

My body steadily aches, with pain and such,

The winds blow effortlessly, like your continual perfection

The only flaw visible, pains me like an injection

I can no longer pursue this hapless dream

While I thought it to be true, things are not as they seem,

Like the forests of old, you have come and gone

Twas beautiful while it lasted, now fleeting like a song.
