The Love-Sick Sonnet
Oh Sadness my soul's anthem it does sing
a woman of faith tests mine once daily
the wailing of my heart as she does wring
insane I am to love some one , maybe?
Her golden locks are but keys to my heart
one her sky-lit eyes could see to unlock
her tender soft voice stole me from the start
she took my soul away only to mock
Oh my soul arriving with-out a home
where should it be so my freedom is found
I shall stay lost to be a soul alone
she'll take my heart six feet under the ground
she offers me time to speak what is true
but refuses when I say, "I love you."
