Love’s Growing

Love, Represented by a simple smile, a hug or a kiss
A lover’s hope protected, and Caressed with delight
Secretly the binding of two souls, loves primal wish
Shared between two people they seek each other’s insight

At first it starts out slow but love it surely will grow
Some hide it in shadows and some present in plain sight
Romantic sense and ambiance get wrapped in the morning-glow
Bound with a promise they pledge before all standing upright

As the ink dries another document is needed to be signed
Complacence arises while furnishing gather settling dust
Denied needed nourishment it withers, love dries and dies on the vine
Tarnish and tearing two hearts break, they bleed, they rust

A downpour a divorce neither forgave nor forgot
Sacrifice and devotion they sensed it was for not
