Leaving

I have seen the stars

At night, you see.

But it was far away from here.

I would like to go see them again

one day

But my freedom has been replaced

by fear.

I was forced into a place of worry,

Greed, suffering, exhaustion,

Grief, hatred, and fake perfection.

I sat patiently at first,

Unaware of my strength.

But at length I begin to stray

From they path they chose for me.

I thought often of the place with

the stars

And sometimes shed a tear,

Afraid that I couldn't return

Afraid that I was too far.

I am tired now

And wish to rest my eyes

Upon a place of such beauty

And peace.

But they won't let me leave.
