The Job of a Sister

Location

I am not important,

neither is my name,

just know that I love you

and I'll take away the pain.

Someone's always there

to help you dry your tears,

you'll never be alone.

I'll protect you from your fears.

I love you more than life itself

even if I never say.

You're much more than my sister,

you're my sunshine on a cloudy day.

It has always been my job

to protect you from the world,

but now I know to let you go

though you're still my baby girl.

It doesn't mean I want to,

it doesn't mean I can,

but at least know, if you want,

you can hold my hand.
