An Introduction of Something More

Here are we, and here we are.

We fight our battles near and far.

Coast to coast we intercede

For those away who from us plead

Peace and safety given them,

Always coming back in the end,

For them, they not be enough,

'Tis us who drive them through the rough,

Expected, sure, drive us mad,

Yet still we strive to see them glad.

Could we retire? no sir,

'Lest we become the awful cur,

Kicked to the ground, left to die,

And never given reason why,

For the hour is soon at hand;

The gates open, the city grand,

All thy worries melt away,

The fiery night and stormy day

Seek not their guise but reveal

This holy place by its appeal,

Those who'd oppress continue,

The mighty beast, fighting, will do

All in his power to stand

Against the greatest pow'r at hand,

This foul king, like Ixion

Fear his enemy god in Zion.
