Inside I Must Stay

Keep Quiet,
Don't say a word.
Though, you want to speak your mind,
It's best to remain unheard.
Complexity reigns your brain.
While many people try and try to understand you,
They never do.

Keep to yourself,
Shyness never killed anyone.
Let people in and all you hear are screams,
From deep inside,
You hear screams.
Screams of wanting to get out,
of wanting to leave you.

Face it,
They don't want to hear you,
to see who you are.
It doesn't matter, this devil that lies within.
How hard you hurt, how much you cry or wish.
There is no one who cares.

Just face it,
No one understands,
No one wants to.
The ups and downs,
They just don't.
Do they want to?
That's what they say, but they never do.
Once they realize what more this entails.
The things no one understands are what hurts the most.

The sleepless, angry nights.
The constant distractions.
The slides of depression.
The climbs of anxiety.

This is beyond them all.
This is beyond me.
