If I had the power to change something,

I would change it.

I would change how they split into two groups.

Lao Family and Hmong American Partnership.

Because they criticize each other 

Just to seem better than the other

Not only harming themselves,

But all our Hmong people.

Even now, Lao Family has split among itself.

Now a Lao Family Community and a Lao Family Foundation. 

Protesting against each other

Trying to make the leaders fall

If I had the power to change,

I would change it.

I would change the fact that the Hmong leaders don't work together.

I would change so that we would become one group.

If I had the power to change,

I would change the Hmong to make the word "just" appear among the leaders.

I would change so that we would have a place to live and a place to call home.

I would change so that we can finally live in peace.

If I had the power to change,

I would make the life of a Hmong person just like everyone else.

If I had the power to change,

I would erase the words, "Go back to where you came from."

Because those words hurt us.

They hurt us to the deepest part of our hearts.

If I had the power to change,

I would change that.
