i watched the republican debates and they hurt

let me be clear, i am not trying to be political, i am only trying to exist.

but did you know that when i was fourteen years old i looked at a girl and i couldn't breathe. and those who know will understand, that we are not trying to be political, we are only trying to exist.

and they say the word 'gay' like it's a controversial issue, like 'what is your position on gay marriage,' but

i am not trying to be political, i am only trying to exist.

and they talk about religious freedom, and then right to express their beliefs.

okay.

but I thought people had rights, not ideas.

and they don't understand that i am not trying to be political, i am only trying to exist.

so when people used to ask me 'do you have a boyfriend?'

i never knew what to say, because if i told them they would think i was trying to be political, but i am only trying to exist.

and i want things to be okay, all okay, for us, i don't want to be a political issue or a debate point or a supreme court decision

because i am not trying to be political, i am only trying to exist.
