I Ran for My Heart

My pulse began to race

Like a horse out of the gate

Then my muscles began to clench

Like a wrench on a nail

Refusing to let go

The noise in my skull roared and raged

There was no where to run and hide

I couldnt just go with the flow

Not this time

The horse came around the bend

Nearing the finish line end

None of my thoughts counted out yet

Two prize boxers unwilling to waiver

The finish line just ahead

The round was almost over

I ran with my heart to do or die...
