I Am From

Fri, 05/09/2014 - 13:16 -- key_45

I am from the ground full of grass,

From which I was born.

I am from the fruitful pomegranate tree,

that supplies richness and hope for the Earth.

I am the dirt from the edge of the Kiosko, (gazeebo)

That is push around.

I’m from the rooster that takes care of,

Other hens from strangers.

I’m from the clothing line full of

Shirts, pants underwear, and socks;

Dancing together in the sun.

I’m from the shade that cools,

The earth and my people from despair.

Across the right side of the yard,

With a metal door; maybe tin,

I am from that tin roof house,

where my adult journey began,

where my sorrow shall stay,

where my yearning for peace shall end.
