I’m Done Waiting For You

Seeing your letters after long day’s toil,
like flowers with warm ethereal glow
grounded solitarily in iced soil
Comfort and warmth upon me they’d bestow
I held your promise so close to my heart
No matter how hurt I felt, I held on
But I’ve heard rumors in our time apart
Plunged into dead darkness, all flowers gone
If you still loved me, I just cannot see
Why you’d lie or leave me lost in the cold
But If you still loved me, wouldn’t you be
Here, loving, or true to promises told
I won’t forget you, but I’m walking free
Hope you’re happy. Farewell. From, Marigold.
