From a Humble Life to a White Coat

On a mid day in April, you have made a decision,
A decision to leave your country for my education.
Tearful goodbyes and hopefully minds,
Soon to be shaken by the terrible kinds
Of difficulties and obstacles
That brought tears to our eyes.
Yes dear, there were highs
but more lows were evident.

Who could have thought you would do this for me?
To give up your dignity, respect, for me?
What have I done to deserve this treatment?
To be your only hope and only excitement?

Ages have gone by and here we are.
Still in this nation and now come too far.
Your father is forgetting you unconsciously.
Age has got to him unfortunately.
Such a heartbreak and I have brought it.
Because you are here and caused it.
Who could have thought you would do this for me?

These heartbreaks have taken a new view.
In my life that started with morning dew.
To stop another son from getting forgotten
By their own father who has begotten
Him because of the distance and the age.
Because my dad could not be there with every page
Turn in my grandfather's life. No one asked
For this yet it cannot be fixed.

Not unless...

I have decided to wear a white coat whenever
That may be to bring joy to whoever
Suffering from the same broken emptiness.
Because everyone deserves happiness.
Specially you, you have given up for me
The life you have carefully sculpted before me.

Who could have thought you would do this for me?
To give up your dignity, respect, for me?
What have I done to deserve this treatment?
To be your only hope and only excitement?
