Hearth

Two hands lift me up, a smile blinds me

nonsensical whispers and laughter

this is a hearth, my fire

Dancing fingers, dancing eyes

the clutch of protection

there's safety here

in the shape of my mother

There are love songs, sad songs

Tides of the ocean

fireworks in voices

embraces of desperation

The paradox of grow up

but stay my little girl

of hiding but still seeking

of I’ll protect you

but face your fears

Two slammed doors, heated fury

silent footsteps

shadows of ghosts

whispers of sorry and it’s ok

Soft, ephemeral kisses

the physiognomy of love

the wasted minutes

of chasing life

The incarnate thought

goodbye

the slowly fading thought

I love you
