For the Girl with the Big Brown Eyes

Location

There once was a little girl with brown eyes so big you'd think she'd seen a ghost,

and tangled waves of hair that fell around her face

The little girl with big brown eyes and wavy hair was excited to see the world

There once was a girl with large brown eyes,

and a boy with eyes so blue they put the sea to shame

He said he liked her better with longer eyelashes,

so the little girl with big brown eyes spent all her money on mascara

There once was a little girl with large chocolate colored eyes,

and a boy with a splash of freckles across his face, that she swore were the constellations in the sky

He said he liked her better with straight hair,

so the little girl with big brown eyes spent all her money on a hair straightener

There once was a girl with weathered eyes so small that you could hardly tell their color,

and people scrambling to get likes on their latest Instagram picture

They said they liked her best with a filter,

so the little girl with small brown eyes posted pictures that took the texture out of her complexion

But the little girl with those small brown eyes decided that she'd had enough,

the little girl with small brown eyes was tired of changing herself

So she took off her mascara,

and she unplugged her straightener

The little girl opened her big brown eyes,

and forgot about all the people who liked her better when she was like everyone else

For the girl with the big brown eyes and wavy hair,

don't you worry about what they think

They've never seen a girl like you
