Freedom To Be Me

The judgemental glares

The critical stares

They all think they understand

But how is that possible?

Have they felt a mother's death?

An ache of the stomach

Yearning for a snack--

Of food, meaning

Of life,

Love?

I am not more special than

my neighbor

Secretly, we all search for

happiness

But sometimes we need to be

reminded

that we all want the same thing

To be free.
