Forgiveness

A night doesn’t pass without you on my mind

Like a fly that won’t go away

The thoughts linger

My heart races with anger and vengeance

But at the end of the day I’m only left with guilt

The guilt holds me down

And keeps me up at night

I toss and turn

I ponder all the possibilities

When the night is silent

I hear the phone ring

If only I could go back in time

But there is no such thing

I just want you to know

That I’m sorry

And I forgive you
