Forgiveness

Please forgive me for what I have done,

This weight on my chest weighs a ton.

The life I have I fearfully regret,

But what I've done I'll never forget.

My arms are scarred here and there,

From the cuts and insicions that make them stare.

I went from blade, to needle, to pill, and line,

I always thought they would be mine.

The drugs I will admit helped the best,

But then my life turned into a mess.

I'm sorry to all of those I hurt for real,

And to all those who believed I'd had my last meal.

For all those who stayed and fought,

You will forever and always be in my thought.

I know it all overtook me for awhile,

But now I've run and overcame my mile.
