Forged by Trials

Dear Heavy Heart,

I know you spend much of your days crying, even if just inside.

I know your pain is not explainable to even your closest friend.

It’s something only experience can bring.

There are days when you just wish for the life you had before.

I am not here to tell you that it will get better, even though it will.

I want to tell you to embrace this conflict. Indeed, trials are a terrible part of life.

They break you down and make you feel like you will never recover.

At the same time, when you pick up the pieces and put yourself back together,

You become stronger than you ever were before.

Because of this trial you will become steel: forged in fire, strong, and unbreakable.

Each time you get knocked down it will take twice as much to knock you down again.

You will become undefeatable because what used to tear you apart will no longer phase you.

Trials devastate but also heal at the same time.

Let a small part of you be thankful for them.

Without their presence

you would not be who you are

today.

Love,

A Daughter of Trials
