Fear

What do we fear the creepy crawlies under our bed
or is it the wondrus voice inside our head
killing my thoughts until braindead

I fear success, no I seek success
I want acknowledgement above the rest
To get these feelings off my chest
So I can ultimately impress
For those in suits and ties and fancy dress

What scares me though is the answer no
No our societal construct proves you wrong
our beat we create does not fit your song
But I sing in my head words of grandeur of living the dream
But all in my head never to the world

Fear is nasty, the fear of being wrong is mortifying
that we are too afraid to be flying
High above society
to live the dream of you and me

But these wondrous thoughts inside my head
Created instead
To just be thoughts and actions said
never acted upon and left for dead
Which can only be the saddest thing
For you and for me
