Eternal Sunset

My eyes, with their amber hue,

Will flash back when my time is due.

They don't care for the object of the mind's worries;

Instead, for the loving look from my father,

The beautiful sight of my mother's rare smile.

The person in the glass doesn't catch their attention.

They won’t remember the ugly.

They will blink over the man-made,

Pass over the bad.

They rest on the sun rays coming down through the trees,

Are elated at the intracate spider web,

Hypnotized by the infinity of the flowing stream.

They will cry for the beauty they had so often taken for granted.

They will fall in love with the commanding, calm sunset.

But the night approaching will never appear.

A sunset for eternity is nothing to fear.
