One day I’ll fly away
And ne’er return.
They are blind to the love he gives,
Deaf to the tears I cry,
Mute to the words of tenderness.
So, rather than suffer more,
I’ll leave the grave that I am in.
Across mountains and seas,
They’ll never hear from me again.
I’ll live far away,
Safe and happy,
And never speak their names again.
Their faces will fade from memory,
And then I’ll finally be free.
