Are you a sweet and lovely swimming dream?

Shall I compare thee to his summer love?

I feel as if my feelings are teeming.

You are like a required dove, by Jove!

I cannot believe you go around,

As if you are not a god, but a clown.

You tie me down and hold me to the ground.

It was bound that one day you would be crowned.

But yet you ignore me like I'm a wall.

I can feel my heart breaking into two.

You treat me as if I won't have it all.

My brain has gone in a whirl, like a zoo.

How will I get you for myself to hold?

In my dreams, we will be together, sold.

I made this in Creative Writing one day... I hope you all like this.

Before I read the title of your comment, I automatically thought of Shakespeare, because the poem reminded me so much of his sonnet that starts "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?" That sonnet is wonderful alone, but it's so cool how you used inspiration from another poet to make your own poem! If you are interested in writing more sonnets or other types of poems, check out "poetry writing tips" under the resources section!
