Deeper

Location

Oh! Bringer of water, thou hast lost me!

Why must I cry for help that fades

Into a deeper abyss I flee

For the love of life is greater in the cascades

Water surrounds the depths here

In a place of siomber despair

Life feeds in an endless tier

To create damage that is never to repair

Now there is only darkness and fear

And as the last rays of light fall through

And the soul has begun to sear

The hand of friendly comfort has withdrew

Thous hast left me moving deeper

Into the endless black

That is water and its keeper

And yet reaching for the surface cannot bring me back
