Decisive Love

Your eyes spoke to me.

So many hellos and so many good-byes.

It only took a single look.

A smile here a smile there,

you always seemed to care.

We started to talk, we laughed a lot,

I started to feel happy.

But then,

I let you in,

and once I did,

You made me bleed.

Your love is controlling,

disabling, hostile and impatient,

I guess you were always a bit complacent.

Your love is broken,

so corrupt and manipulative.

You gravitate towards me;

you appeal to my loneliness.

You keep making me believe

that without you,

I don't have anyone,

But I do.

I have myself,

and she is more than enough.

I can do all things with Christ who gives me strength.

I am independent.

I am loyal.

I am undersanding.

I am honest.

I am me.

I am whoever I choose to be, and

you don't get to decide who I get to be.

Because I am not a robot,

I am human,

and I'm free.
