Dear Brother

Fri, 02/09/2018 - 14:37 -- SC1013

Dear Brother,

Five years is all it took

For everything to fall apart.

Year One

Superman was nothing

when compared to you.

He could fly, soar the sky,

Even lift up the moon.

But you could laugh and still carry the weight

Of what the world put us through.

But then you left and didn’t look back

No matter what we said.

That pain, seeing you go

Was worse than a bullet in my head.

Two

It was hard, never knowing

What you were up to.

We’d hear a word

From a little bird

But it was always better coming from you

Three

Hello?

Are you there?

No one knows anymore.

You could be dead

Lying in a gutter.

But we just go on with our lives

Four

Our aunt found you

But you made it clear

You’d rather die

Than lend me your ear

Five

It’s all over

Losing you is no longer

The worst I’ve ever been through.

Now I am homeless

Lonely and broken

Never knowing what to do.

I had a boyfriend, you know

A best friend too.

But first you left, then mom, then sister

And so they left me too

Sincerely,

No One Important to You
