Daylight - Nothing Without You
So I say goodbye to the daylight,
To the sun I bid adieu,
For in the end
There's nothing without you.
So close the drapes,
Burst the bulbs in every lamp,
Extinguish every candle flame
For every time I cry your name.
How can the Earth still rotate upon it's axes
And these candles drip their multicolored waxes
When the air in my heart is as icy-cold and motionless
As the vast dark vacuum of space, nothingness?
My veins contain the universe and the whole thing wants to explode!
The memories play within the light that dances upon my skin,
And for a moment I dare to let it in-
I watch the daylight dance upon my skin.
But I know the beams will never reach within.
So I say goodbye to the daylight,
To the sun I bid adieu,
For in the end,
There's nothing without you.
