The Day I Met You

My stomach's a churning mess,

My heart's in distress

Secretly hoping for a yes

An unasked question,

No answer,

Don't know what I' m hoping for

Sneaking glances

Dreaming about a chance

To talk to you, at best

Trying to make eye contact,

But I'm not that brave

At the sign of a glance,

I look away

Since I met you,

I wanted to know you

I wanted to be friends

Then I realized,

I wanted to be your girl

My heart skips a beat when I see your smile

Or when I hear your laugh

I get butterflies when you walk into the room

All of this has been true

Ever since the day

That I met you.
