Daddy, I Loved You

Location

I was thinking of you today
You taught me so much in so many ways
Like how to give up and just say goodbye
And then to turn "love" into "wanting-to-die"
You and my mom, you had it planned out so well
But in the end it turned my life into Hell
I should have known it was too good to be true
But I was so little, I didn't know what to do
Daddy I love you
Daddy I need you
So daddy please stay
Don't wanna lose you
So all those years when you were gone from my life
I couldn't stop thinkin' 'bout what it would be like
If you'd have sobered, if you could've just tried
Rather than give up at the first bad sign.
After all those years you show up again
And after all those years, you still don't understand
That when you left, you broke my heart
It felt like you grabbed it and ripped it apart.
Daddy I loved you
Daddy I needed you
So daddy please say
That you love me too
