Contemplation

Job 12:7

Knowledge of God’s Wisdom

“But now, ask the animals and they will teach you,
or the birds of the sky and they will tell you.

Birds

Visiting the little birds ... telling them of the trees

Where they used to fly from branch to branch

Now all that is heard are songs of memories

that don’t even try the deep longings to quench

Painting a picture in the sky ... cloudless and perfect blue

The soothing warmth of the sun embracing hope for tomorrow

Observing hunger in the eye as glimpses of truth

like the balm of God’s Son washes away deep sorrow

Hope in assurance purifies the heart

all condemnation swept away forever

Stones of endurance now become a part

in quiet contemplation through Christ’s endeavor
