Confused ... an excuse

Proverbs 12:10

10 A righteous person cares for the life of his animal,
but even the most compassionate acts of the wicked are cruel.

Psalm 94:20

20 Cruel rulers are not your allies,
those who make oppressive laws.

Confused ... an excuse

Visiting the past at times brings great anger

Seeing the cruelty of war brings condemnation

Always justifying the reason for that danger

As evil invades from every side fallen human nature

In this world of hurting will righteousness rise?

In this environment of darkness is artificial light enough?

In the valleys of indifference filled with the despised

Can sensitivity arise from someone filled with love?

Why so many defeats in trying to build a better day?

On what altar can disguised evil be slain?

What is really a sacrifice if no one  ever pays?

Is not what costs nothing not just mundane?

Does a gift have worth if it is not cherished?

Is help worth much when it is ignored?

Is this the end of day when so many perish?

Or a beginning for a new one for the bored

What all have in common is contradiction

What keeps us so confused is made of the same

What is accepted most is the repetitive affliction

In someone else’s life like it is an everyday game
