Closing Time

Location

In times of grief,
When words cannot console,
The atmosphere suffocating,
No respite from dole,
Inner strength,
Not from human hands but above,
Provides solace, closure,
A dwelling of love.
A chapter translated,
The legacy of souls past,
Impervious to the individual,
Glorifies the First and the Last.
The living mourn
Their dead to the earth;
The cycle recommences
Of death and rebirth.
Eulogies recited,
Memories recounted,
Blessings bestowed,
Eternity amounted.
