Christ Paid a Debt

Location

I stood in sin, surrounded by shame,
For my past was dark as night.
But in my weakness, grace made a way,
Piercing through with glorious light.
I saw three crosses on a hill,
Where three men were condemned to die.
Where the Savior though guiltless, still,
Died for sins that were yours and mine.

Christ paid a debt He did not owe,
I owed a debt I could not pay!
No other one has loved me so,
He died to take my sins away.

The gift of life He offered me,
And all of those who will humbly call,
Confess their sins, and simply believe
That His grace is sufficient for all.
By His love I've been redeemed,
By His blood I've been made whole.
On the cross at Calvary,
Christ paid a debt He did not owe!

Christ paid a debt He did not owe,
I owed a debt I could not pay!
No other one has loved me so,
He died to take my sins away.

Now I walk in Heavenly  light,
Set apart from this world I'm in,
By the One Who's scars and stripes,
Save us from the curse of sin.
Then one day I'll see His face,
Fall to my knees at His nail scarred feet,
And through all the ages, I'll sing His praise,
For the debt He paid for me.

Christ paid a debt He did not owe,
I owed a debt I could not pay!
No other one has loved me so,
He died to take my sins away.
