Brittle Chains
You have continued to hold on this long.
For some years, some months, and some weeks
You are getting close to your last song
Your rusty metal shrieks
You just don't have that glistening color anymore
The shine and gloss
My eyes couldn't ignore
It was a wonderful feeling to have your arms wrapped around me
The way you used to pierce my heart when you reached out
I would have surrendered on one knee
However, you were not strong enough
To keep me deep in the fire below
I stood above the flames that once made you burn
Connected to your final chain
