#BecauseILoveYou

Mon, 10/23/2017 - 15:21 -- Natty22

When I’m not with you

My entire body aches

To see that sparkle in your eyes when you look at me

To feel the electric touch of your hand in mine.

With so much intensity

My mind races

To relive every detail from our last meeting

To remember the words you whispered in my ear.

Our sweet secret.

And yet, if your intensity did not match mine,

I could not feel the same way.

Like the absence of oxygen extinguishing a flame.

I would not chase you.

And I’m an uncaged bird too –

The moment someone clings on to me too tight,

Is the moment I begin to suffocate.

I slip like water through their fingers.

We each have our own lives.

Different interests, different friends.

Being apart and then coming back together

To share what experiences we had – whether joyful, or tragic.

The time away makes us stronger.

Giving me freedom makes me not want to be free.

The lighter your grip, the more the flame grows.

Because I love you.
