Because I Love You

I was always a mixture of too much and not enough.

A galaxy dotted with stars and brillance,

but with dark spaces in between.

An ocean teeming with life,

but harboring unknown entities within the depths of myself.

A warrior crusading against the devasation of others,

but unable to quell my own demons.

In spite of the war within,

I hope to step back from the battlefield and wave a white flag.

I'll lay down my sword and finally after all this time,

offer a peace treaty to myself.

I'll look in the mirror,

and my reflection will ask how this truce came to be.

I'll look into my own eyes and finally be able to say,

Because I love you.
