Bars, the social norm
Keeping us in, keeping them out
When will it end
This nasty game they’re playing?
But we wont back down, no
The blood fueling our bodies with oxygen
Is the same. We all feel the pain.
The change is in the youth of today
We are unstoppable, a tidal wave
Hope love and justice follows our wake
Eventually the time will come.
These rights we’re after are civil
Just the basic needs of man
It’s common sense for everyone.
Hand in hand, follow our footsteps
The birds are singing in the cage
No longer with clipped wings.
