Backdrop

Location

I fight my way through your

Loquacious verbiage

And open facade

Of a closed door,

Searching for entry

To your ego

I give respect for your walls

And take care

To walk around,

Not to disturb what lays within

For fear

Of anger or retribution

If I disturb a link in

The chained-up doors.

I hold myself upright,

On a tightrope

I lose my balance,

On a cliff

A struggle just to survive

Your individual anima.

I encroach on your

Spotlight

To find it on another

(She, he, it, unmade)

Summarily

I make my way back

Crawl my way back

Find my way back to your backdrop

And it's okay.

I never fit

In limelight

Anyway.
