Away From You

Away from you.

Away from pain.

Away from judgement.

What’s to gain?

Everytime you said the note was flat.

Everytime you thought me a brat.

Everytime you said I dressed like a boy.

Everytime my confidence you did destroy.

Away from you.

Away from worry.

Away from tears

Making my eyes blurry.

Far from the source of many tears.

Far from the cage of younger years.

Far from the pain of pulled ears and hair.

Far from the ones who didn’t care.

Away from you.

I am no more.

Away from you.

But you are still my core.
