Awake

Awake...Another dream to bring me back to this cold, lonely existence

Alone...Left to suffer in silence as no one will hear my cries

Awake on such a night as this to ponder why...

Why? Is it human nature to sabotage ourselves?

To ruin the good we have? Therefore ruining those who gave us this gift of good?

To discard someone so full of love, laughter...life

I will never understand...

So I am left here, awake, as another dream has brought me back to this cold, lonely existence

These dreams, dreams of you that plague my sleep

That will not let me rest, for I find myself thinking

Thinking of you, what you have done to me...

Is this one of life's great lessons?

Must I learn to live with this pain?

Right as I find myself along the correct path, you find your way in and steer me off course

Have you not done enough?

You've taken my love, my laughter...my life

Because of you, I must not only fight you in my dreams,

Dreams that bring me back to this cold, lonely existence,

But also myself in the waking moments of my days

Is there no escape from this hell?

Maybe one day I will find peace again

But until then, it is back to my dreams,

Dreams that bring me back to this cold, useless existence...
