Anxiety

Babump!

The shrill bell rings through the school.

And my terrifying ordeal begins.

Babump, Babump!

The hallways are bursting with warm bodies.

The noise is deafening.

Babump, Babump, Babump.

They crowd presses into me and takes my air away.

My feet won’t carry my body.

Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump!

My hands won’t stop shaking.

I can’t hold my books.

Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump!

Why can’t I breathe!

Do my lungs even work?

Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump!

Why are they laughing?

Make them stop laughing!

Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump!

The tears burn my eyes.

I can’t see where I’m going.

Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump!

I can’t stop myself from running.

My next class is just around the corner.

Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump.

I dont care who bumps into me.

Just let me get there easily.

Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump.

I’ve gotten through the doorway.

I’ve made it to my seat.

Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump.

My backpack is thrown down.

I collapse into my chair.

Babump, Babump, Babump, Babump.

My forehead connects with the cool surface.

A silent sob escapes.

Babump, Babump, Babump.

I get my breathing under control.

My hands slowly stop shaking.

Babump, Babump.

My tears finally cease.

And I pull out my pencils.

Babump.

How I hate my Anxiety.
