Addiction

1 Corinthians 10:13

13 No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others.

And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond

what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide

way out so that you may be able to endure it.

“The sun never shines in whisky heaven”, strange statement in a song

How much we understand about addiction ... as the temporal runs out?

Is it every time that sin is conceived and the conscience drowns out?

What does it do to a person ... why do traces of some turn cold?

And others I met through the ages have minds formed in a mold

The effect of addiction without question becomes a master of obedience

The one who preys on the hopeless and serves its own convenience

We sing about showers in heaven but what about storms of despair?

The first always followed by sunshine ... The other takes what’s there

The first brings assurance in knowing ... the second dries up out of tears

The first recognized by the freshness ... the second is followed by fears
