Breathe
There was nothing else she could do
As she raised the blade to her wrist
All the hurtful words spoken to her
All the angry stares
All the disappointment she had distributed
Played back inside her head
She was 9 when suicide first entered her head
She was 13 when she cut herself for the first time
Nobody knew what it was like
Waking up every morning hating yourself and life
Nobody ever would
All or Nothing
Were the words that left Joeys’ mouth
Right before he swallowed a whole bottle of Pills
And chugged a bottle of vodka
As he layed there in the bath tub
All he could think about
Was the end of the harassment
The “gay” jokes in the hallway
The name calling
He came out when he was 13
He’s been bullied everyday since
Suicide
Such an uneasy word to enter the minds and exit the lips
of one of gods most beautiful creations.
A young life
A beautiful, developing young mind
A human being
Suicide isn’t a joke, or a figment of our imagination
Yet it’s looked at as if it’s something that shouldn’t be talked about
Suicide
The 3rd leading cause of death to teenagers
Yet most of America is worried about the latest reality TV show or teen pregnancy
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.”
Yet some cases of suicide are because someone was verbally abused or cyber bullied
Think before you speak
You may not think it effects lives
But when you hear from a friend that someone you once picked on
Killed themselves
You can’t help but feel guilty and think you could’ve done something different
Don’t wait until it’s too late
