What Do You Think Of When You See The Sun?

What do you think of when you see the sun?

I hope you think happiness.

I hope you think of your best memories.

I hope you think of the people who bring out the best in you.

I hope you are reminded of all the beauty in your life.

I hope you know that beauty is everywhere--

in people,

in places,

even in tragedies.

I hope the sun evokes emotion, and passion, and desire.

I hope it makes you believe in yourself.

I hope it inspires you to do good in this world.

I hope it makes you do what you have always wanted to do .

I hope it makes you feel warm inside.

I hope it makes you soul search.

I hope it reminds you of all the light in your life.

I hope it makes your soul ache for more.

So I ask you again,

what do you think of when you see the sun?

Because I see all that and more.

I see all the opportunities life gives us--

the ability to find yourself,

the ability to get lost,

the ability to discover,

the ability to be resilient,

the ability to fall in love with life,

with others,

and more importantly,

with yourself.

I think of adventure,

and all the things I have ever dreamed of doing.

I think of nature--

the fall foliage,

the blooming daisies,

the singing birds.

I think of all the people in this world--

some happy,

some sad,

some lost,

some found.

I think of all the elephants walking the earth.

I think of all the children finding a home.

I think of all the people getting married.

I think of all the freedom we are given.

I think of life.

I hope you do too.

And if you can’t see the beauty in the sun today,

look at it again tomorrow,

because the sun is relentless.

It will rise and shine,

brighter than you ever imagined,

day after day,

week after week,

month after month,

whether you like it or not.

So I ask you again,

what do you think of when you see the sun?
